Greetings,

I can imagine that FBLA chapters across the state and across the nation are

extremely busy gearing up for the regional fall leadership development

conferences, the national fall leadership conference, and competitive events.

While awaiting for these exciting conferences there are several things you can

do to prepare yourself. A success strategy you can use to equip yourself for

the fall and winter conferences is “reviewing to pursue” by simply reviewing

and pursuing. Using this strategy you are guaranteed to have a competitive-

edge.

In preparation for fall and winter conferences, you should first set time away

to REVIEW. Review what? I’m glad you asked! Review things you wish to

accomplish as a leader in areas such as your public speaking, time

management, and communication.

After reviewing, set goals to develop these skills during upcoming conferences

and leadership development training. Remember, these conferences are here

to help you become the best leader you can be. After reviewing and setting

goals, PURSUE your plans through attending the various workshops and

seminars offered at our regional and national fall leadership conferences. Go

after your goals proactively with zeal; take advantage of every opportunity. The

conferences’ fun and exciting workshops will give you more than just useful

information but motivation and inspiration as well.

Planning is important. I’m sure most of you are familiar with the saying “those

who fail to plan, plan to fail.” The review to pursue strategy is having a plan

for a plan. I encourage you, NC FBLA and Eastern Region, to Ignite the Fire

by planning to make the best out of your FBLA experience.

Hello NC FBLA,

I hope all of you are enjoying your school year. The State Officer

Team has been busy planning for the State Leadership Conference. We are

pleased to announce the State Officer Team will be hosting three

workshops at this year's State Leadership Conference, two of which

will be geared for middle and high school level members. Our newly

developed and approved Program of Work is available upon request.

The POW outlines our objectives and goals for NC FBLA. I would

like to stress our need for a State Adviser. Please contact Mrs. Seehorn

(contact information available at www.ncfbla.org) with information

regarding a possible State Adviser. Thank you for your involvement

in our association. I hope to see you at the NFLC in

Washington DC. Please contact me with questions or suggestions.
